Synonymous with Hal Chase, Schumacher’s nickname was “Prince Hal” teamed up with the immortal Carl Hubbell to help pitch the Giant’s to pennants in 1933, 1936 and 1937. One hot summer day, he collapsed on the mound in St. Louis and was barely revived only after being packed in ice. Fortunately for Schumacher, this immaculate PSA 8 Goudey offering, likewise, appears as if it has been packed away. The last card (#240) of the prestigious Goudey set, we can't imagine even that sole specimen surpassing the aesthetic brilliance of this museum worthy offering. Of the 311 of these graded by PSA, none have been graded higher and only 13 have achieved the PSA 8 grade.
