Buy this along with the Ruth and you’ll have two of the most incredible offerings of all time. Outstanding shot of Gehrig in the field. Take home this tiny bit of history and preserve it, make it a family heirloom and tell your children and their children after that about the kind of man Lou Gehrig was. Even though Gehrig’s consecutive game’s streak has fallen, his AL record 184 RBI’s and Major League record 23 Grand Slams are probably safe for years to come. The silent, stoic warrior, Gehrig’s consecutive game streak did not begin when he replaced Wally Pipp as most people believe. The streak started the day before, when he pinch hit for Pee Wee Wanninger. Wanninger had started that day for shortstop Everett Scott, ironically breaking Scott’s streak of 1,307 consecutive games. That little fact will win a few bets for you. This one arrives in an oversized Beckett holder with a grade of BVG 5.
