If you love western life, big wide open spaces, endless sky and life in the saddle, or you’re just a fan of interesting non-sports issues, then this lot is for you.

Included is a incredibly scarce, high-grade, centered, specimen of the celebrated Buffalo Stamped card, from Bowman’s 1949 Wild West Picture Cards set, in what would probably grade an EX-MT 6, accompanied by the original artwork used to create the card.

Original artwork for illustrated trading cards is actually more rare than illustrations used in comic books, because the original art was often considered disposable. More of these “mini-masterpieces” found their way into the “cylindrical file” than into the hands of collectors during the time these cards were produced.

The original 3” x 3 ½” pencil sketch used to create the foundation for the card remains in NRMT condition with only a few hints of print production visible.

If you’ve ever wanted an original piece of trading card art, this would be an incredible relic to own. The subject matter will never go out of style with American audiences and the quality of the pencil work is remarkably inspiring.
