In 1956, Kaline was coming off of his breakout season, which saw him dethrone Ty Cobb as the youngest batting champion in baseball history. A gifted natural hitter and superb fielder, who rarely was out of position or threw to the wrong base, Kaline was the first player to reach 3,000 hits with the help of the DH rule. Only two singles have been graded higher than this one, and only 25 are graded PSA 9.
