By 1958, the Dodgers World Championship of 1955 seemed like a distant memory. Playing in the L.A. Coliseum, with an aging cast of stars, the Dodgers finished in 7th place and struggled for an identity. Despite the terrible season, this wonderful signed ball, bleeds Dodger Blue and is signed by Duke Snider, Gil Hodges, Pee Wee Reese, Don Drysdale, Junior Gilliam, Clem Labine, and a host of other Dodger favorites.

The following year, the Dodgers would rebound and defeat the White Sox in six games to capture the World Series. So consider this ball a precursor to October magic. It was a season when the Dodgers would find themselves with a stockpile of strong young arms that would lead the team into one of the greatest eras in the history of the franchise.
