This Spalding ONL Ford Frick baseball is signed twice and dated twice by Hall of Fame second baseman Nap Lajoie. Both signatures are scripted “Larry Lajoie” in blue ink, with one on the side panel and one just off-center of the sweet spot. Both are dated “June 6th, 1949." Lajoie was 74 years old at the time he signed this ball and he passed away just 10 years later. Single-signed Lajoie balls have always commanded a premium price in the hobby, making a rarely seen ball such as this, which displays exactly the same as a high-grade Lajoie single, a special opportunity and a bargain in the eyes of many collectors. The ball has shellacked heavily to preserve it and the signatures are authenticated by both BAS and JSA with full LOAs from both companies.
